*This is all fictional and elaborated as what I think may have happened if the powers that be had decided to build these highways*

Here is how I think I-195 should have been made...

It should have kept running past the Parkway all the way to Route 35.  This would have allowed for one long continuous expressway from Trenton to Belmar.  Route 138 with it's four traffic lights and poor interchange with Route 18, gets very congested.  Also, since Route 138 has a very small amount of houses and businesses on it, it would still be easy to convert it to an Interstate by creating access roads.
